The mechanism
Connecting a large load to the grid requires an interconnection study, an upgrade agreement, and a place in a queue. In constrained regions that queue is measured in years. Capacity that exists on a slide does not exist on a floor.
A contract for capacity is not the same as capacity.Ask when the power is energized, not when the space is reserved.
Why it reaches your invoice
Scarcity gets priced. Committed-capacity contracts, demand charges, and time-of-use rates all move real cost onto tenants, usually through terms most teams do not read closely until renewal.
How we handle it
We size deliberately and grow against demand we can see, rather than pre-committing to capacity we would then have to sell. That is why Founders Edition is fifty seats and not five thousand — the number reflects what we can actually run well today.
